An athlete should inquire about bonding or insurance protection against mishandled funds and  asked for proof.  The terms of the arrangement should be described in a written contract, which is separate from the agreement to negotiate playing contracts, and it should be reviewed by another lawyer. It should specify the adviser’s services, which can include:

• General bookkeeping.
• Analysis of the player’s budget, including an annual financial summary.
• Analysis of the player’s tax liability and tax planning.
• Preparation of the player’s tax returns.
• Payment of the player’s expenses.
• Periodic status reports depicting the athlete’s financial affairs.
• Counseling about related services, such as legal, accounting, estate planning, and insurance.

We offer sports career conferences with representatives from the top retailers, gaming companies, and card companies who are educating our students on the correct way to promote endorsements and sponsorships.
