Harding Hitting Defensive Back who started numerous games at all 3 major positions in the secondary. A Safety, Nickelback, and Corner who has plenty experience covering the #1 WR, TE and Slot. Has a knack for the ball and loves to play downhill. He’s played in major games stemming from FCS Playoffs all the way to ranked matchups in the Pac-12 and was a force in each contest. Fast, versatile, quick and long DB who is your prototypical DB that wants to get the ball back to the offense. Hicks Onu is listed as a legit 6’1 201.

 

2021 (R-Sr. - Montana):

• Named 4th-team All-Big Sky by Phil Steele Magazine

Known as one of the team’s hardest hitters, Hicks Onu finished his senior year ranked No. 9 in the Big Sky Conference in total passes defended with 12 pass breakups and one interception. He was named fourth-team All-Big Sky by Phil Steele Magazine, and was tied for the team’s seventh-leading tackler as a senior with 43 total stops. He also had the sixth-most solo tackles on the team with 28, and tallied 4.5 TFLs, recovered one fumble and logged one QB hurry. Including Montana’s two spring games in 2021, Hicks Onu finished his on-year career at UM with 47 total tackles in 15 games. He was selected to compete at the College Gridiron Showcase all-star event in Texas after his senior season.

 

2020: (R-Sr. – Montana): Transferred to Montana in time for the spring semester and emerged as a leader in the secondary during the Grizzlies’ abbreviated spring season.

2019 (R-Jr. – Oregon St.): Played in six games for the Beavers… Picked up 28 tackles and one TFL

 

2018 (R-So. – Oregon St.): Did not play due to injury

 

2017 (R-Fr. – Oregon St.): Played in all 12 games, starting twice, including for the first time of his career against Stanford… Ended the season with 38 tackles, including 17 solo. Added 2.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one interception and one pass breakup… Tallied a season-best six tackles against USC, and forced a fumble while on special teams… Posted two more six-tackle games: against Arizona State and at Oregon, Added a pass breakup against the Ducks… Picked off a pass against Stanford - the first of his career - to go along with five tackles… Tallied TFLs twice: 1.0 at Colorado State and 1.5 against Stanford

 

2016  (R-Fr. – Oregon St.): Played in all 12 games mostly on special teams…  Finished the season with 11 tackles, including five on coverage units… Registered a season-high three tackles at Colorado… Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention
